That was literally my biggest fear starting IT here, then the boss says everyone is in Google and once an OS let's then on Google he doesn't care Ash, I definitely agree they want people to use it as is. Which is annoying if you want to do more than email or Facebook. You can also right click the start button for a bunch of quick access to stuff. The one down side is the potentially dodgy data harvesting that they supposedly do, but that happens in 7 and 8 now too I think. I guess updates can be annoying too (although they can be changed in the settings). However, updating earlier is better for security, which is more important than some slight annoyance really. I do find that updates happen a lot more quickly, so that's certainly a plus side. In terms of program support, nothing I use is unsupported on 10. There are, however, programs I use that are unsupported on previous versions (although, I don't think that should be the case to be fair, but they want you to upgrade). Other than that: - The UI is cleaner. It's maybe a bit more difficult to find the more advanced settings at first, but once you learn how to, it's fine (e.g. right click on Start -> Control Panel). - Startup is much snappier with the hiberfile saving a snapshot of RAM and reloading it (although I do have an HDD). There is an issue with it on my desktop though, where startup is even slower than it was in 7, but it is speedy as fuck when it works.
