I went from Gracepoint season 1 to Broadchurch season 2 without any problems. They only really changed one major plotpoint and it's easily ignored.

Anyway this is awesome. She's hella attractive IMO, I'm psyched to see if we get a male companion, but I count Rory as a companion anyway so.

Also I have seen much less outrage about this than I did from teenage girls upset when they cast an old guy that they couldn't headcanon themselves in fanfiction relationships with.

I haven't finished this latest season yet, but so far it has been consistently really good besides the ending to the emoji robots episode.

I liked Capaldi's third season a lot. Granted, a lot of that is down to the finale two-parter which I think might be the best Doctor Who story ever. But it was generally a really solid season.

If I were to rank them:
9>5>4>10=6>3>7>8>1>2

Capaldi's seasons were all uneven. They'd have some of the most terrible episodes in the whole series ("Kill the Moon", "Forest of the Night", "The Lie of the Land") and also include some of the very best ("The Zygon Inversion", "Extremis", "Heaven Sent"). Makes it really hard to say that I liked his run, but he was absolutely one of the best Doctors.

The Doctor Who board is pretty bad right now.

"How dare they turn a character that's a white male into anything but a white male! Even when said character has the ability to change faces, and it's been established for a while now that they can change Genders. I'm going to quit watching! (But I won't quit posting about it on the internet.)"

I don't see what the problem is. This isn't like Iron Fist where changing the race or gender of the character would destroy the character. It doesn't matter who the Doctor is so long as they don't suck at acting.

As long as the writers do a good job, that's all that really matters with Who.

26th Doctor could look like a Sontaran or Silurian for all I care. As long as the writing is good.

The 26th Doctor better look like a Klingon or I'm abandoning the show in 2086.

More the start of the show in general. He's great in it.

Also they recast the first doctor before like 34 years ago. They can do it again! I just want to see them recast the Third Doctor with Sean Pertwee taking up his father's role.

I've grown to like Capaldi as one of the best doctors (although I also agree that he's got some terribly uneven seasons), so it will be a shame to see him go, but his tenure has been deceptively long and it is about time for a change.

So long as the writing is there, the Doctor could be a piece of toast and it would probably still work somehow.
