From like 2002 to 2012 I used to love sitting down for some Daily Show (and later Colbert Report) as it was funny and occasionally insightful. Yeah there was a slight liberal bias that grew in time but I didn't care as it was pointing out genuinely silly behavior on both sides of the political spectrum. Then somewhere towards the end of 2012 I recall Jon Stewart basically giving the first memorable what I would call his "Shame on America" speeches. It might have happened before but it really stood out to me that the show was second to pushing whatever his personal politics are. Yeah I kept watching him on/off but it became way too easy to notice the "Hey we're on the right side of history" circle jerk that took up most of the air time. When Stewart finally retired I didn't feel much in the way of caring, he has stopped being an entertainer to me and just a sort of liberal mouth piece that once in awhile made a joke.
