I feel like Aged fits best looking at the cover guy. And don't they call you Ashen One? Seems like you're not supposed to be a robust warrior in their prime in this game

...So Deprived is SL1 but still has 10 in each stat. Seems like best choice for this game?

Yes, but it doesn't increase it THAT much. A luck build is totally viable but I wouldn't try it for your first run, especially if you're new to the series.

All of the gifts are kind of crappy, but the Fire Gem for someone just starting would probably be the best simply due to a certain difficult enemy type being weak to fire.

Getting a Great Axe in the beginning and invading at level 20 was some of the best times I had with that game, was awesome invading in the swamp. Also helped a ridiculous amount of hosts with the first boss after making my Great Axe fire infused, did a crap ton of damage with the charged R2

Poise is in the game, it just works differently than before. It keeps your attacks from being interrupted rather than just keeping you from getting staggered.

Yes, but it has a steep learning curve. Jumping in this late means you're going to get shit on for a good while.

Stick with it though. Build diversity makes it a lot of fun! You'll be gank spanking in no time.

Everyone kinda gets fucked over when it comes to invading. Hosts get invaded by crazy twink builds and have to summon phantoms to deal with them, and invaders get ganked by infinite summons and have to resort to crazy twink builds to deal with them.

hosts needing to summon isnt really a problem, its so damn easy because anyone can just switch over to way of blue and have people from 2 covenants to come in as backup

if you care about NPC questlines and/or vendors, it's also important to go back to the tower for one of them later on, IIRC.

Also will be mildly miffed if the game ends up being DaS1 all-stars and none of the good 2 characters

I just checked, and a longsword infused with the heavy gem gets A-scaling in strength at +10
