While I do wish that more people were blood/plasma/organ donors, I don't fault anyone for not partaking in the practice, and it irritates me just as much when somebody tries to guilt-trip others into being donors or they get all holier-than-thou about their own donations.

What about the fetus changes? If the fetus's life is what matters, then rape is irrelevant. The fetus doesn't exist to a lesser degree because of rape. The fetus wouldn't be any less of a life due to rape. So what justification could you possibly have for abortion in the case of rape if the fetus's life is the issue?

Great question @hockeybub89! Don't expect an answer from @Terra-enforcer. He/she often likes to avoid challenges to his/her opinion on this subject.

I'm wondering if he's stopped responding to me because my shift in posting style and narrative would make it difficult for him to maintain his narrative of me considering I've not been consistent with what one would have to be for his initial labels to be accurate.

I'm probably over thinking and it's just coincidence. This board moves so fast. I don't always keep up with topics I've posted in. I can't imagine anyone doing so without a few posts falling through the cracks...

1. The U.S. Supreme Court declared abortion to be a fundamental right via Roe v. Wade. "The right of privacy...is broad enough to encompass a woman's decision whether or not to terminate her pregnancy."

2. Personhood begins AFTER a fetus becomes viable (able to survive outside of the woman) or after birth, not at conception. The word "person," as used by the 14th amendment does not include the unborn.

3. Access to legal, professionally-performed abortions reduces maternal injury and death caused by unsafe, illegal abortions.

4. Women who receive abortions are less likely to suffer mental health problems than women denied abortions.

5. Women who are denied abortions are more likely to become unemployed, to be on public welfare, to be below the poverty line, and to become victims of domestic violence.

I want to talk more about personhood, as well. Personhood will NEVER include the unborn or unviable. This is why there are no qualms with doctors "pulling the plug" on people in comas. Additionally, around 90% of abortions occur in the FIRST trimester. These are not live-birth abortions.

The viable PERSON should always have precedence over a non-person.

Punishing a woman for being raped is in the old testament. It is a fact. Not exclusive to christianity. That kind of shit happens in islam too and even still happens now. Since science today can prove that, the argument from abortion proponents today has shifted from, "Is it a live human?" (because now we know, yes it is), to, "Has it attained personhood?", or, "Does that unborn child deserve the right to inhabit the mother's womb for 9 months, uninvited?"

Both pretty fucking ridiculous arguments if you ask me.

You're ignoring the life of the mother. And you're certainly not "protecting" the life of that baby once it's born. What you're doing is saying "Because of my religious beliefs, I think all potential children should be carried to term regardless of whether they are wanted or if their quality of life will be awful."
