nah, if people want to bust into your website, they will. There are literally captcha solver farms in China where they pay people to just solve captchas for bots (the bot visits a webpage and then pipes the output of the captcha to the human who solves it and it goes back to the bot to complete registration)

turns out this is cheaper and faster than trying to build a bot that can defeat the captcha.

I hate the ones with street signs. I don't know if I should include the metal rods holding them up or not. And then there's always one hiding in a pixel somewhere that I miss.

Well of course. Security has pretty much always been about simply making the process of cracking it more of a pain than it's worth, because making it completely uncrackable is impossible. Did not know about captcha solver farms, but does not at all surprise me in hindsight.
