For the THIRD Time in Less than a YEAR, former Oklahoma Police Officer, Shannon Kepler has a MISTRIAL for killing his 18 y/o daughter's Black boyfriend!!

The jurors were deadlocked 6-6 after only deliberating for 4 hours on the first degree murder trial of 19 y/o Jeremy Lake in 2014.

D.A Steve Kunzweiler said he was shocked that a mistrial was declared after a short deliberation..he said "I've never encountered a dynamic like this in 25 years of practice. In my opinion, there should be some compulsion placed on jurors to reach a verdict"

Jurors in the previous 2 trials were 11-1 on the FIRST mistrial and 10-2 on the SECOND mistrial and both of those previous ones were in FAVOUR of GUILT!!

The third trial occurred in late June after a judge ruled that they could have considered a lesser charge of manslaughter if they couldn't agree on first-degree murder but the 12 member jury informed him that they could not reach a unanimous decision on either 2 charges as they were still 6-6.

Shannon and his family CHEERED as they raised their hands out of court lead by attorney Richard O'Carroll said the hung jury is evidence the state should reconsider its prosecution.

But Kunzweiler said "I still am strongly convinced that Mr. Kepler is responsible for the death of Jeremy Lake, and i'm going to evaluate every option that's available to me"

Kepler was a 24 year police vet who retired after he was charged when he shot and killed 19 y/o Jeremy Lake while he was walking with his daughter, Lisa.

His attorney said he was trying to protect his daughter while Kepler claimed he fired in SELF-DEFENSE because Jeremy was armed..There was no weapon on Jeremy.

Lisa was 18 at the time when she met Jeremy while he was volunteering at a homeless shelter where she was staying. Lisa said her parents kicked her out in 2014 and dropped her off at a homeless shelter because she snuck out of the home.

Jeremy offered her a place to stay where he shared with his aunt and they became a couple...But one night when they were walking back to his home, Shannon confronted him and asked what she was doing in this neighborhood. Jeremy then reached his hand out to shake his hand and Shannon SHOT HIM out of nowhere.

Kepler then FLED to his vehicle and turned himself in the next morning along with his wife, Gina who is also a cop. She too was arrested for being an accessory but was not charged..

Lisa said on her parents "I really hope they rot in prison for a very long time"
