I loved the shit out of every Layton and Wright game I've played but this crossover is so badddd. I'm contemplating dropping it but I'm already 3 chapters in

What? That game got me back into the Ace Attorney series after dropping it for like 6 years.

It drags a little in the middle, but it picks up a lot towards the end. The story also doesn't make a lot of sense until then, but that's part of the thrill imo.

If you say so. The main reason I can't stand it is the story. The game is like 70% story and 30% gameplay atm and I don't like the story so it's turning me off atm. There was this danger of witches hunting em down at the total beginning and now I'm just running around the fantasy town chasing cats and shit.

I loved it when I played it and I don't get what people don't like about it besides it being easy and the typical Layton-esque asspull when they explain things during the end

I hated how the cases dealt with (no specific story spoilers, but just in case I marked it) "magic" like wtf. i get that the solutions follow the "rules" the game created but it requires a huge suspension of disbelief, especially after playing all the other phoenix wright games. the layton games have always been like that so I guess I wasn't willing to let it trickle to wright's territory

I do however love the music for it. The classic PW tunes sound beautiful, and are a huge step up from the DS-quality ones from Ace Attorney

Eh honestly English Court version of Cornered doesn't really get it right. Objection! and Testimony were really good though

I like how on the official soundtrack all the songs transition into each other. It's really neat

I probably thought it was better than most Phoenix Wright games.

Certainly better than Justice For All and Apollo Justice

The best thing that game had going for it was the music. The ending was just a complete and total disaster and the story had more holes than the swissiest Swiss cheese.

Like what? I thought they explained everything really well; though it made almost no sense until the end.

There's a bunch of epilogue DLC that I haven't touched yet. Don't know if that makes it any better or worse.

The first court case was a mess, so we'll see if the cases actually get better. I'd rather play the intro cases in Wright games than that crap. Things finally got a lil interesting in the Alchemist's house, so perhaps it'll pick up after this. But yea I'm not feeling it atm.

I've done maybe 15 puzzles and have played for like 10 hours.

Pretty sure there's about 40ish puzzles at the alchemist point. Are you speedrunning through it?
Even if that's so, the alchemist case is the best case in the game. Finish that before you decide to judge it
