18 states are suing Betsy DeVos's Department Of Education due the her halting legislative that would forgive loan debt of students who attended "for profit" schools that acted fraudulently. Note that existing rules already allow for students to have loans forgiven. As it stands, taxpayers foot the bill if a school acts fraudulently. The legislation she stopped would have forced "for profit" schools to put up financial collateral, putting the schools themselves on the hook if they defraud students.

Let me say that these for profit education facilities are gutter trash. Now. If these schools are promising expedited degrees for a fraction of the price and offering absurd financial aid programs that you didn't review.

Most for profit schools aren't accredited, ITT certaily wasn't. It might be unfair to say people should avoid schools that aren't accredited, but it's certainly a gamble of sorts to pony up for one.

This is the type of people suing. People looking for a career change in life and when miracles don't happen, they blame other people for their failures. I mean you're going to a fucking art school...what kind of job prospects and earnings are you expecting if you're not incredible at what you do?

Here's the reality of these situations. Most of these people are in their late 20's, mid-30s and early 40's. They go to these schools expecting a quick career changing, but what they don't realize is the amount of work and skill required to go into some of these fields. They take a few life drawing classes and few web design classes and they think they're entitled to a high paying job...which is complete nonsense.

This is what you call entitlement. I see recent graduates (from any college) act the same way. They come out with their degree and they think they're qualified for senior level jobs with high pay. That's not how it works. Everyone is looking for a shortcut and when that shortcut is not there, they want a do over.

To Devos's defense, 'Borrower's Defense' was finalized in October of 2016, the last couple month's of Obama's presidency. Obama never had to deal with it. His Secretary of Education never had to deal it. Obama made this deal as a 'Fuck You' to who he thought was going to be Hillary Clinton.

Devos doesn't have to do shit. She froze the rules because she didn't like it and it was being challenged by a number of schools. It was a typical deal that Democrats would make to absolve responsibility of stupid liberals.
