Everyone was saying, "lol Crash is dead and Crash wouldn't sell in todays market"

Then a new Crash game gets released and it's sold out and has pretty much perfectly positive reception besides a few reviewers.

Good time to be Bandicoot fan right now. Hoping for a brand new Crash adventure.

It more or less was dead, did you like the crap they last pushed out in the main crash series. N-Sane is selling on nostalgia alone, I can't see many kids these days looking at Crash gameplay and thinking "Wow, crazy!".

This. A remake playing with 30 y/o's nostalgia doesn't count. This could potentially kickstart the franchise to a new direction though, if they play it correctly. If they brought out another Crash game in the style of the trilogy, that would be pretty amazing. Knowing today's gaming industry it'll probably be shit though .

CTR and the second Racing game was fun.

Wrath of Cortex was also fine. After that? Nah.

The fact that the only thing that could sell was a remake is a pretty good indication that it is dead IMO.

If a brand new Crash came out with the same gameplay of the first three today it would get destroyed in reviews.

Hell, I think some of the reviews for the remakes are trashing it for it's outdated gameplay.

You could say the same for Bomberman,Sonic,Rayman,Sly Cooper, Jax and Dexter, Ratchet and Clank,Megaman,Spyro and Klonla. They are all products of the mascot era and that's all they'll ever be, they'll never be gaming icons like Nintendo's gang of characters.

Also Crash Twinsanity was a good game that gets underrated because it came out in the PS2 era which was mostly mediocre for Crash

I think if they continue Crash (which they most likely will now) it should definitely continue with the style of Crash Twinsanity. I think that having the open world style (like Twinsanity/Jak1) mixed with a few corridor style, fun gimmicks and vehicles, and maybe even Uncharted-esque cinematic platforming sections with Crash's gameplay would be awesome.

But they should introduce alot more modern mechanics I think.

There's no reason why Crash can't survive in todays market.

It's selling well because Crash 1 is a perfectly balanced 10/10 masterpiece and the sequels only improve upon the formula.

Maybe because people weren't interested in what Activision was offering from the franchise until now. The later games didn't play anything like the classics. They played like generic platformers.

I think Vicarious Visions have potential. The Crash N Sane trilogy is full of charm and has the Crash feel. The graphics and sound are also amazing. They just need to prove themselves with how they'd go with making a brand new Crash game.

They did the GBA Crash games which were actually somewhat decent. And Nitro Kart which was also OK.
