rofl people say this every season

roster isn't aging, over half the roster is under 30
lamarcus aldridge is getting traded
kawhi isn't injury prone lol, he barely missed 8 or 9 games all season from one injury IIRC. He got injured in the playoffs though and that was about it, definitely not "injury prone"

but anyway pretty sure pop can figure the rockets out. Unless they add somebody like carmelo or paul george they're no real threat to the spurs.

Yeah and the spurs got their asses handed to them in the conference finals. Even with kawhi out they shouldn't have been slaughtered that handily. Who's gonna replace Tony Parker since he appears to be done? Sure popovich is a great coach but even great coaches need a great team... especially if they wanna compete with the warriors. And who are they gonna trade Aldridge for? As far as I can tell there's no viable replacement on the market at the moment unless they pick up Paul george which isn't likely. Really you'd probably need someone a little larger too

Oh, please. Iguodala is more of a role player and Millsap isn't a significant upgrade over Aldridge. You are gonna need a new PG, and maybe you can get one in an LMA trade, but not enough to compete with GSW.

take away iguodala from the warriors and their bench ain't shit, who's their primary defender after the starters come out? matt barnes? please.

start iguodala instead of danny green and the starting lineup is already upgraded.

millsap is arguably better in our offense than lamarcus was considering we'll be running the same shit they did in atlanta, aldridge is a better player no question but millsap is a better fit for the spurs

i'd like to think he's a better defender to, if anybody can be bothered to pull up stats we can go over that, but millsap is a def upgrade over lamarcus. he's a no show in the playoffs and needs to go

maybe that's true, but we don't need a chris paul level point guard, we've got patty mills and murray, assuming ginobili returns we still need another play making guard but that can literally be anybody till tony parker gets back.

at this point our offense is never really going to come out of the backcourt anyway so even somebody like a derrick rose (yes i know) would work till midseason when tp gets back

all we need our backcourt to do is contain steph and klay, we'll be fine

As soon as I posted that I got an update on my phone that says "Lakers call Andre Igudala, Rajan Rondo (ugh), and Ben McLemore at midnight as free agency begins"

So I guess Iggy gonna be a Laker too

I know Gasol declined his player option for the Spurs so it seems like he is willing to take a pay cut to stay there, which is good for you guys because he is still a decent player, you guys were just overpaying him. Hopefully (for you) Manu retires and you'll have about 22 mil to work with, but IMO iggy ain't worth that. You'd be better off going after Hayward before he ends up in Boston.

Not really an option when contracts are involved

And there is literally nobody better than Gasol for the price.

Even Manu, if you can get him at the veterans minimum then that's a steal simply for his veterans presence and flashes of brilliance

Rudy Gay is still good? Oh, I guess he is. He really flew under the radar being in Sacramento (and I suppose being injured for half the year as well). Honestly, I didn't even know that he was still with the Kings last year.

I'd say it's debatable that he is way better than Iggy, though. He still scores a lot, but he's always kind of been primarily a scorer. He beats Iggy on offense, but Iggy is a better defender. Keep in mind that Gay's stats look more impressive recently since he's a starter, but GSW wouldn't really have a spot for him to start and they might drop off as he becomes more a role player like Iguodala.

If Gay's stats are inflated because he's in sac, then everything except stats is inflated for Iggy since he's playing on a top five team of all time.

Gay is extremely underrated and barring injury is a top 25 player in the league. Assuming he is as willing to come off the bench as Iggy has been, which he will be if he actually joins the team, it makes the already near unbeatable warriors even better.

I don't think he's a better player though, he's probably better offensively but iguodala is a better fit for either spurs or warriors than gay would be. so warriors would probably be slightly worse off, again no idea about his stats so I could be wrong
