Some ass hat got arrested last week, making us understaffed. Now they're making all of us give up one of our off days and moving our schedules around until they find two people to fill these positions. It takes three weeks for someone to be fully ready to work here, so it'll be at least three weeks of us doing this routine until they hire not one but two people. Plus, they're moving me to closing shifts now.

I'm so quitting this job.

It seems like none of the hire ups here really seem to know what they're doing. It's a shame because I really enjoyed working up here at first. Nowadays, it's just stressful and annoying. I'm putting in my two weeks tomorrow.

It's a desk job at a hotel. I answer the phone, tell guests how to get around the city and occasionally assist the event services team and the runners.

My job some old lady fell down the stairs at work and broke her ribs, she's out for a few months, HR sent an email to everyone saying we can donate our accrued time off to help her out. It's fucking insane.

There's another lady up here that lost both of her off days, so she's here all week. She was suppose to be off yesterday and today. I feel so bad for her because she's probably the oldest person here (around 60 something).

The only insane part is being unable to trade PTO freely otherwise. If a coworker wants an eight-week vacation, and offers to buy my PTO for cash, why the hell not?

This happens here and you know what I call it...
Extra money. I'm gonna be working 6 days this week. Was here for 13 hours yesterday. I usually open unless it's a double then I open and close, I've had days where I only close, days where I only open. All in the same week. I love the overtime.

Because not all jobs are created equal? The guy who puts the bottle caps on the soda giving his time to the CFO wouldn't work since one job is much more important than the other.

Then the accrued time-off would have different values.

I'm glad you're getting out of there tc. We've been stuck with picking up an extra 16-30 hours per schedule for over a year now. No reason to stick with a company that won't put in any effort to make sure they run properly with enough staff.

Yeah, we've had a similar issue before where we were understaff because they fired some people and the people they were expecting to replace them on time didn't get hired because they didn't pass the drug test or they pulled out for some reason. So that leaves a bunch of people doing a job by themselves that requires usually more than one person to finish on time. And they end up getting it trouble if they go over time for said job.

Shit like that seems to happen way too often here and I haven't even been working here for a full year. But this is the first time we have to actually give an off day for it.

Well sure they weren't complaining because they didn't have to work their days off until he was gone.

That's true that people don't seem satisfied with anything at their job though, but that's not the case here.
