I wish Netflix would revert back to their older model of original content. Fewer, higher quality shows. Now it seems like they're churning out garbage to check off different demographic boxes.

It had a more unlikable main character than 13 Reasons Why. That's a very impressive feat.

for real, netflix isnt even worth paying for anymore IMO but since i dont plan on paying for cable i dont know what my alternatives are.

i think the problem with netflix is that they have a really broad demographic so it's hard to focus on making good content for just one target audience

I know they're trying to shift away from licensing content to producing it, but the volume over quality is concerning to me. Other than A Series of Unfortunate Events and Stranger Things none of their new releases have been good since like 2015. Granted I haven't seen Glow yet, but there was a while (like 14/15) where a Netflix original carried the same prestige as an HBO original. That is far from the case now.

I'd like them to have a nice mix of quality movies and shows. They usually have a few legit movies, and then the rest is all stuff from the SyFy channel that they are too embarrassed to even play earlier than 2 am.

Inspired by Sophia Amoruso's best-selling book, this series follows the rise of Amoruso's multi-million dollar fashion empire, Nasty Gal. Britt Robertson plays the starring role of Sophia, a rebellious, broke anarchist who decides to start selling vintage clothing online. As her passion -- and retail fashion empire -- begins to grow, Sophia unexpectedly becomes a businesswoman, who starts realize the value (and difficulties) of being the boss of her own life. Alongside the likes of Charlize Theron and Kay Cannon, Sophia Amoruso serves as an executive producer.

Agreed. There is so much garbage on there now that it's hard to determine what I want to watch. I used to be able to watch every Netflix Original Show without question because it was more than likely a hit. Now the hits seem a lot less common.

The Marvel content is well received and The Santa Clarita Diet was fantastic. Also, Orange is the New Black is ridiculously popular.

But yeah, it's a worrying trend.

I've been meaning to check out The Santa Clara Diet. And while Daredevil and Jessica Jones were good, Luke Cage left something to be desired and Iron Fist was legit awful. Orange is the New Black is nowhere near as good as it used to be either, just riding its popularity and cast at this point IMO.

Yeah, it's worth it. I'm not saying that Marvflix or OitNB are good or bad, just that they are critically acclaimed, even if some seasons are better or worse.
