That was incredible! That was amazing! Oh my god it completely answered all the questions about peter quill's father. It provided such a satisfying conclusion to that story.

But... goddamn. That movie was depressing you guys. It just all of a sudden ends with Yondu's funeral? What a goddamn bugger! Where was that hopeful, lighthearted ending after the serious moment, like in the first.

It was bad enough that Peter's father is the one that killed his mother! That moment was so powerful. Kurt Russell was great.

Most of the actors, nay all of them were awesome.

Favorite movie of the year so far.

It was pretty impressive how they turned Yondu from a mercenary jackass that even the galaxy's mercenary jackasses thought was scum into a genuinely good guy that you truly cared about in a total of 2 scenes. I admit I teared up during the funeral scene. >_>

It really was a great movie. And even though I wasn't particularly fond of the sudden DBZ-mode way the fight between Peter and his dad went, it still felt meaningful.

So how do celestials fit in with the whole infinity stone thing? And are celestials evil? I thought they were just ancient beings, not evil like quill's father. Goddamn I have so many questions, he was so evil.

And with hindsight and time to reflect on the movie, his whole impregnating multiple beings on multiple planets is beyond creepy, it's like from a goddamm Alien movie.

Yeah but it's kinda depressing. I mean the take away is that Peter's mother was basically raped by this celestial being who tricked her, then he impregnated her Alien style (that's creepy enough) and THEN he gives her cancer and kills her!

I mean that is some dark shit. It's just not a feel good movie like the first one.

Well the first was more feel good, and kickass. This one wasn't the disappointing mess that avengers 2 was, but it was just... depressing, in addition to being a great movie that provided a resolution to stories left over from the first.
