I'm not even sure what the plans for GTA Online are after RDR2 comes out. If they shift focus to Red Dead Online then that's going to hurt V a lot and significantly lower shark card sales. Then RD:O and Railroad Bonds or some shit will carry Rockstar for a several years and GTA V will drop off the top seller charts. Then that would give them a reason to make GTA 6 at some point, possibly the end of this gen or for the beginning of the next gen.

probably, when it's re-remastered.

The PC/PS4/XBO release wasn't a remaster.

I don't think they could sustain RDO as long as GTAO though

Simply because what the fuck would you spend money on

More horses?

GTA has all sorts of cool cars, jets, yachts, etc.

Thought I read an article where some analysts were predicting it was gonna be another 10 years before a new GTA cause of Red dead 2 coming out and the continued support of GTA online. Would be pretty shitty if true. But honestly, they have absolutely no reason to even begin working on a new one right now since V is still such a cash cow despite being almost 4 years old

Which is why they'd have incentive for GTA 6 towards the end of the gen or early next gen.
But that's assuming they stop focusing on V when RDR comes out.

I don't think TakeTwo will let them, to be honest. It's a cash cow. Moo!!!!!

Yeah I remember a year or two ago they were making $500 million a year of shark cards alone, no idea if that's gone up or down, I'd assume up since the player base is still large if not possibly larger and things are just more expensive in game but I don't have any actual numbers on that. But at the same time it already feels like they've slowed down a lot with the GTA:O content. Basically all the last big DLC's have been the same thing copy/pasted with new vehicles thrown in except for cunning stunts. And they generally only focus on one thing at a time so who knows what they're gonna do. I could see them going either way with it, only time will tell I guess.

How isn't it?

If GTAVI isn't out it will be for sure. Pretty sure anyone who buys a PS4 or Xbox One buys GTAV.

Well it's pretty obvious that they did it the way they did completely intentionally. They always knew they were going to release it on PC and on the new consoles that were coming out in a few months, they just intentionally only did it on PS3/360 knowing everyone would buy the fuck out of it and then knowing they could get a lot of people to buy it again. They pretty much just intentionally did it in reverse or releasing the held back last gen versions first before releasing the better version because they knew everyone would buy it. I don't really consider it a remaster if they could've released it all at once but intentionally chose not to for marketing purposes.

Even if it was planned it still fits every definition of a remaster. Hell they did more than a typical remaster (which is often just some settings cranked up).

DLC is winding down for GTA, to focus on RDR and other projects.

The Gunrunning DLC is one of the last large add-ons, and will likely just be small things from now on, if anything.
