Why is there no option for Final Fantasy Tactics Advance? That was my second FF game after FF8.

It just has : No, I've played other games in the Final Fantasy series, but never Tactics.

It has options for the PS1 disc and War of the Lions. Or is FF Tactics Advance sooo bad that Gamefaqs won't recognize its existence?

LOL, the first fight was a playful snow ball fight. I also got it for my birthday back in 2003. I eventfully traded it to my friend who burned 100+ songs onto my computer from a CD in 2005.

I usually don't like grid based battles cause its slower than Turn Based Or action based. but I like Desiagea 4: A Promise Unforgotten for the PS3.

I still have FF8 and that's one of worst of the main line FF games aside from Mystic Quest and FF 13 trilogy.

Personally for me I thought the customization of Advance and A2 Grimoire to be more limiting than Tactics and I didn't like how abilities were taught via gear. I enjoyed unlocking classes and abilities as early as possible and Advance and A2 Grimoire limited that. Graphically I liked Tactics more so as well.

Though I thought the law/judge rule to be kinda neat and enjoyed the auction house aspect.

Personally for me I think Final Fantasy VIII is one of my favorites. I really liked the amount of customization in that game and being able to turn your characters into physical or magical powerhouses and equipped any spells to them. The story and magic Draw system was a bit odd though.

I liked the bright colorful world, excessive lore, loose and easy job system, silly characters and story a lot more than the dreary grey world of Tactics. not that that style didn't work for tactics, just that I liked A2's take better

thats tactics Advance, A2 changed the law system a lot for the better
But as stupid as the execution was I kinda liked the idea of Advances laws, could've been a really neat world building aspect if done right, shame A2 all but dropped it

I don't remember animated cutscenes being in the Playstation original. There were enough differences besides that to make it way more than worth it.

I never understood why people hated the law system in FFTA so much. Other than the ridiculous "damage to animal" law, the others shouldn't be a problem unless you decide to try to only use a one-class team. Can check the laws for the day before you even enter the battle, and later on exploit the system for your own benefit with anti-law cards.

Or, exploit the fact that the AI never breaks the law, and cheeseball the rotation to cripple the enemies in any given story battle.

The bigger sin in Advanced is "pass the knife around" FF9-style ability gain.
Farm that rare item (which may or may not involve resetting multiple times), then go grind that ability on everyone, one at a time.

1. Get rare knife.
2. Reset several times because you didn't get the rare knife, and this is the only thing that drops it or has it available to steal.
3. Equip knife on someone.
4. Grind until ability is learned
5. Give knife to someone else.
6. Repeat steps 3-5.

I was more indifferent to the laws. But the abilities taught by equipment thing (I HATE this in RPGs. This is part of the reason I rate FFIX lower than other people do) plus the less customization of characters felt less fun.

Also the plot. For FFTA Fuck Marche and his insisting on raining on everyone's parade by making everyone go back home to the real world. Even though everyone who WASN'T Marche seemed to like Fantasy-Ivalice more than Real World-Ivalice. Marche ruined everything.

yeah you figure most battles take at least 10 mins for a reward of 50 - 80 AP, when most skills require 250 - 300 to master.

trying to have multiple people master a 990 AP skill with one weapon is kinda bs

I recall dual wielding took about 990 AP or so to master. That was a huge pain in the arse when I had only one weapon that taught it.
