In a very broad sense there's fiscal and social distinctions to party support. You could be fiscally conservative - i.e. small government, lower taxation, etc. - but then socially liberal - pro gay marriage, pro abortion, anti-police militarization, etc.

So yes, you could be conservative and a feminist. It's just not very common.

Where this gets confused is when you have a conservative female leader and people confusing that with feminism. "See, Theresa May, we're feminist!" No. No you're not.

There isn't a true left-wing party in the United States of America. Therefore, the "moderate = liberal" argument does have a ring of truth, as you're only splitting the difference between right-wing and more right-wing.

If Democrats were a true left-wing party, they'd have spent the last thirty years fighting for healthcare as a universal right and a guaranteed right to vote.

Just looked up that party and no. Even Wikipedia describes them as conservative despite using the "liberal = centrist" definition.
