I think most people agree somekind of systematic change needs to happen

But calling for the total dismantle of everything then comparing cops to slave cops does not help your case at all and is an extremely stupid thing to say, especially if youre trying to get the majority of the cops, the good cops, on your side.

This also has nothing to do the police system. The cop was indicted by a grand jury and sent to trial. He was immediately fired by the department once the trial ended (the soonest they could legally do that). That IS the police system doing its job properly, at least after the fact.

What Kaepernick is bitching about -- because he's completely ignorant to how the government operates -- is a judicial system made up of 12 citizens that didn't deliver a result he wanted.

Cops are held to different standards by necessity. That's why they're allowed to make arrests and do many other things the average citizenry is not. I don't think he's saying there needs to be no police. He's saying a revision or a slight change isn't enough and instead it needs to be changed from the bottom up. Not saying I agree it disagree but that's how I viewed his comment

I agree change needs to be taken place,but you aremt going to get it by completely dismantling the system. Significant changes need to be made sure, but he also has an issue with trial by jury, which as admiral said, is a whole nother issue as well.

And i mostly hate the fact he compared cops to slave cops of the past. An absolute slap in the face to 90% of the cops out there who are actually good people.

We just had a guy gunned down in front of this girlfriend and her small child, and the killer walks free. And people complain about a tweet. While the tweet is in poor taste , funny how people care more about the tweet then the reason he sent it.

And he just thinks those significant changes are significant enough where it would pretty much be a dismantling of the current system, and a new one coming up.

And I see how the comparison to slave cops is bad, but it probably speaks to the idea that just because the government gives you lawful power to do something, it doesn't always make it right.


Also, if a good cop is going to ignore the overall message that someone is saying just because they feel insulted, that's not a good thing. I understand people can become emotional and that there are good ways to put your views out there, but that's not an excuse to ignore a message as far as I'm concerned.
