Edit: Also the fact that Marvel vs Capcom is included makes it almost seem intentional.

Yeah, aside from Mario Odyssey and God of War, it's the other game that everyone's talking about. And yet it's left off the list.

Plus the game got a ton of awards this E3 - whereas I'm not even sure if Marvel got any.

I'm assuming the person who made the list isn't a fan of fighting games.

I was there and can tell you that marvel vs capcom had a ton more crowd attention and marketing. They had more stations set up than DBZ but their line was still longer. I imagine net traffic reflects the same level of interest.

DBZ might end up great but I don't think it has as much mainstream appeal, or the money of capcom advertising behind it.

On youtube the videos of the Dragonball reveal has people going absolutely nuts. Those videos are nearing 1 million views. In fact the most popular game Bandai revealed at this year's E3 isn't even Ni No Kuni. It was Dragon Ball.

If you compare that with the reception Marvel has gotten it's like night and day. Every single FGC related site you go to people are talking about how much better Dragon Ball looks compared to Marvel. It even spilled onto twitch streams and all over twitter.

I think you have it completely backwards in terms of the anticipation for these games.

Not just a 'DBZ' game - but rather a game by ArcSys (the makers of Guilty Gear and BlazBlue). That's why people are taking it seriously.

Speaking of taking it seriously:

This game got a ton of recognition and awards at this year's E3. So I'm not sure how television ratings from 1999 factor into this discussion.

Yes, there's a difference between the two. Today's "showcased" poll refers to games which were already announced prior to E3, but were shown during E3 this year. "newly announced" means games which were first announced during E3 this year.
