So my friend told me he got around 10k from FAFSA.
He lives with his single mom, she's a nurse. She makes just as much as my dad. Meanwhile I got nothing from them. I have two younger siblings. My parents are separated and my mom isn't even working. It was probably all loans. You should qualify for those loans too. And yes, being a single parent helps.

One child plus one parent has a higher EFC than two parents plus 3 kids. Throw some roundabout numbers of average salary between these two parents and what state you're in so I can check. It's confusing.
My wife and I just recently decided to go back to school. We both filled out the FAFSA. Used our joint tax return so everything but our names, birthdays, etc was identical. All the actual financial crap. Sent it to the local community college, got our letters with what they could offer for the next school year: Me: $3500 loan, $750 grant Her: $3500 loan Da fuck? --- ...
