It's data entry so I don't have to talk to customers but God damn. 16 hours seems so beyond me. I'm going to try though. If it was 12 I could do it easy but 16 is crazy lol

i work 24's pretty regularly so yeah 16 isn't that big of a deal.

what's the schedule like? 16 hours monday-friday? hell no. but if it's just like 3 days a week then i'd do it. i had to do 6 12s when i started this job and i hated that. 5 days a week is all i want to do. 10 hours a day is fine. more than that sucks but 14 is the most i done in a day. i did like 40 hours in a weekend and that sucked.

I worked a 16.5 hour shift before, it was okay. I was just really tired the next day. I can't imagine doing data entry for 16 hours though. Just doing it for 5 hours is boring. I have also worked shifts till 2am and woke up to work again around 4:30am. Just be careful about driving.

Possibly your legs and arms too.

Unless you're absolutely desperate, like lesser of two evils where the other choice is to starve, don't do it.
Not to mention the entire effect it would have on you mentally

Depends on whether you're being paid hourly or salary. Either way, 16 hours sounds like hell. I've done 14 hours of manual labor before and it was hell.

You wouldn't even get that. You still have travel time, eating, grooming, and however long it takes to get ready before work. And this is assuming you have nothing else you need to do.

I used to work as a deckhand on crew boats. They have 12 hour shifts typically, but sometimes you have to work longer if it's required. The longest single shift I've worked there was probably about 17 or 18 hours, but it was a special case.

Is TC going to stay onsite during his duty days? 8 hours doesn't seem enough to travel 2 way, wash up and hit the hay for a minimum amount of time.

Also, how many working days per week?

I do 16 hour shifts almost every weekend, but I serve at a banquet hall so its different work.

If topic creator is not salaried, I'm pretty sure working a 16 hour shift is in violation of FLSA.

The most we are allowed to work where I'm at is 15.9 hours. Then you have to have at least five hours off before you can come back in. I think.
