Graphics in game are actually good, the faces look weird in the scenes. I remember injustice 2 did the same thing and they ended up fixing it.
Honestly, 2 characters is fun and not having assists makes it better I think. A lot of cheap shit was spawned from using assists My dislike is the fighting systems seems to be over simplified. I remember down back on Dante would make him stinger, combo, and you could finish off with a couple shotgun shells. It seems like you can't string these any more and they're all just separate inputs specials. Not having a defined launch in the air button I dislike too. just press X a bunch of times and a combo will be created. Also it seems everything has been resorted to a down right or left right move. I was playing as Chris and literally every input would have some kind of move UMVC really felt like you needed to take the time and learn everything and this one feels accessible and easy to use --- Steve Nash | 13| Phoenix Suns | PPG: 16.9 | RPG: 3.60 | APG 11.3 | EFF: +22.96 http://www.gifsoup.com/view3/2283379/dance-o.gif ... eh
the MvC franchise has been around for nearly 20 years and it's kind of had a lot of distinct qualities that are being watered down. I dislike the small cast in this game, the lack of non MCU characters on the Marvel side and obscure Capcom characters, the crappy graphics, DLC characters announced before the game is even out, etc. Mark_DeRosa posted... UMVC really felt like you needed to take the time and learn everything and this one feels accessible and easy to use This is a problem for me, it seems like this franchise is clearly being used to cash in on the colossal popularity of the MCU and not really giving anything to the fans that have been playing MvC games for many many years. --- ... There's not a one of these titles that isn't broken. The crossover combinations are still BS, and people better than almost everything else you could be doing for the meter. MvC1 still had assists by the way, but the way they were balanced only like five of them were even usable. I actually think MvC2 is still the best of these titles, because even though a clear tier list develops, and the overwhelming majority of the cast never sees play. The biggest reason is it's not as swingy as MvC3, where naturally high damage means one mistake will kill your team, and someone can also drop X-Factor to turn any hit of opportunity into a happy birthday situation, land one mix up on the next character as they come in, and end the match in fifteen seconds. In MvC3 you learned two or three combos/loops per character and some good ways to go into them from random hits, and you're ready for everything but the pros. In MvC2 you couldn't put that kind of hurt on someone if they sat there an took it without fighting back. I feel like they also significantly cut back on the utility assists offered. Maybe a couple assists in MvC3 could even touch the utility of Psylocke or Cyclops beta assist in MvC2. Even at it's most oppressive, getting stuck beneath a Sentinel or trapped in some Strider/Doom clockwork shit, MvC2 has more opportunities for give and take.
Actually, in that respect, there being less stuff on screen does kind make MvC1 a bit more interactive for the average player, since it's easier to follow. But the lack of stuff happening on screen also makes it easier for stronger players to set up some of it's problematic things. Infinite combos are arguably easier there than they every were in MvC2. And being able to threaten them definitely affected who saw play and who didn't. People often throw shade at MvC2 for this, but because of damage proration these weren't nearly as dangerous as the characters with good mix-ups. EDIT: Seriously. I know this video is like thirty minutes, but MvC1 has some bullshit when the fairest thing people are doing is Colossus assist corner carry into Oroboros into air combo/mix up. https://youtu.be/SBwlOffGD_o?t=15m12s --- https://i.imgtc.com/72JF7CA.jpg (by mark2000) 9 Transwomen have been murdered since 1/1/2017 ...
