Sounds like they're having one of the young teams take the reins with it being overseen by Tanabe. That's basically exactly what happened with Breath of the Wild, which turned out phenomenally, so... cool.

Additional cool factor is that means Retro is still working on something we don't know about yet!

This is what I'm thinking, really. Either way I'm just glad it's being made. Here's hoping it turns out well, Breath of the Wild was fantastic.

This is GREAT news, imo. I don't think that Retro needs to return to Metroid Prime, unless they grow large enough to stick a B-team on it. They already made 3 fantastic Metroid games and fully developed the blueprints needed for another team to run with it.

They're supposed to be working on a new IP. Though there were reports of them having two teams now, so a new DKC could also happen.

I wouldn't mind, personally. Tropical Freeze was fantastic. But something else or a new IP would be better, of course.

I'm hoping Retro is doing something new entirely. But DK would be alright, as Tropical Freeze rocked.

I think a young team working on Prime 4 will be good for the franchise. 3 was fun but not as good as the others; it'll be a nice shot in the arm.

Sounds good either way tbqh. Might even work out for the better.

I think DKC just needs to rest a bit, that's why. I'd wanna see them work on something new for a change, and that news about them probably making a new IP is a good news. I'd rather see that then them making a Metroid Prime game.

And Tanabe is pretty reliable as a manager goes.
