no ones dictating anyone to buy them for mandatory play that can already be found ingame. besides gta v online got leverage from spoiled impressionable teens to shell in $, so it makes sense why bethesda wanted to captalize on this

Because they are making money off other people's hard work. The mod creator only gets a 20% cut for doing 90% of the work. And it fucks with the way the mod community works. It's a community largely based on sharing. many modder designed assets or ideas get used or built on by others, and it's never a big deal because it's not like their making money off it or anything. Once you start throwing money in the mix everything starts to go FUBAR.

oh if these paid mods doesnt disable achievements or trophies from fallout 4 or skyrim, benevolent leader would be less of a hassle to raise the ante shelling the cash esp on consoles comp to pcs where you barely have access to trainers or cheattables

@Lokarin well yeah, but donations are a bit of a gray area. You aren't demanding to be payed for work other people did, but if someone appreciates the work YOU put in, they CAN donate. A bit arbitrary in a way, but it's just the way the community works. It's the unspoken rules we've settled on, and it's what we're comfortable with.

I don't like them trying to get a cut of something they didn't really do.

If anything, they should just have people pay extra for their dev/toolkit stuff and leave it as is. Other than them wanting to make more money, what reason could they have for the decision?
