Seriously Endeavor is in the running for worst parent in anime. The guy is so fixated on surpassing All-Might that he had Todoroki not out of love, but to give birth to someone to be used as his vicarious supremecy of his rival. Not to mention he put his wife in the hospital after she threw boiling water in her son's face. I mean, if it were not for the fact that his profession is being a pro hero, he'd be a villain easily. And since later in the manga All-Might lost One For All his entire plan has gone up in flames (pun intended) so all those years of trying to prep Todoroki is wasted now.

I don't know, I'm guessing most of the world doesn't see that side of him.

And apparently he was actually a decent hero with good intentions until training with all might crushed his hopes and dreams or whatever.

Has chapter 141 came out yet?

He cares enough about his children that he wanted them to have the best quirks.
When his wife attacked their helpless child, he had her committed to protect his son.
Even though he is the #2 hero, he personally trained his son from a young age.
He showed up at the stadium games to cheer on his son; Deku's mom stayed home to show her support.

More like best dad ever.

The series has made it a point that not all heroes are heroing with the same intentions. While All Might is doing it because he wants to be the face of hope and put a smile on everyones face, other heroes may have more selfish intentions of fame and fortune. Endeavor seems like he just wants the title of No. 1 as a sort of status symbol and self gratification.
As long as they're beating up villains and stopping crime, the heroes can do whatever they want. As for the situation with his wife, it's most likely a Japanese thing where personal issues are dealt with at home and not thrust into the spotlight.

he actually saves people when in public light and fights villians

he is a domestic abuser but that alone doesn't make him a villian, it makes him a bad person and worthy of being in prison, but not a villian
