Do you think that jerk should be charged with something?

19 y/o Lucinda Luna from Tennessee is Dead after her 18 y/o boyfriend just graduated high school and her FATHER gave him a LOADED GUN as a Graduation Gift where he accidentally SHOT her while showing it off!!

Brennan was given the heat as a gift for graduating high school by Lucinda's own father and he was admiring the gun when he accidentally pulled the trigger and struck her in the stomach!!

She was rushed to hospital where she died of her injuries..

The Sheriff said that there NO CHARGES planned against Brennan as they ruled it an "accident" as Earle Farrell said "By all indications, there was no intent for this to happen"

Her neighbor and close friend Kara Stubblefield is "distraught" over her friend's death as she described her as someone who loved to read and said "Every time i went over there, she wa slike here you need to rea this book"

She also claims that Brennan was EXPERIENCED with guns and had several of his own already and shoes to shooting ranges frequently and said "This is going to hurt real bad for him. Like he's not going to get over this for a long time. i'm just worried about Brennan really and her parents too".

Do you think Brennan should have been charged with something? let's see what people think

This. Don't know about Tennessee law but here in California that would be illegal. Then again here in California it's nearly illegal just to look at a gun so I dunno...

It will set another precedent for the consequences of what happens when guns are treated like toys and that you shouldn't ever gift loaded weapons to anyone.

It's kinda hard to tell from Duckbears post but I figured the dad gave him the gun and he went to show it off at a separate occasion. But I could be totally wrong.

Pretty much this.

Who gives a LOADED gun as a gift to a YOUNG person? Is it safe to assume that this boy has had no prior experience on handling guns....?

TCs text says that the boy already owned several guns and were experienced with them.
I got no gun experience myself, but I thought that the first thing you do with a gun is to check if it is loaded or not, and dont show it around if it is loaded.

Hair triggers, or very light weight triggers can go off very easily. They are also from what I gather very popular among gun owners, as it makes them easier to shoot. Honestly, triggers below 8 pounds should probably be outlawed to avoid accidents like this. I use a 12 pound trigger myself.

No, this is part of the cost of misinterpreting an amendment. You can't have elements of a culture based on a manliness substitute and not have an allowable amount of accidental death.

Yes. If we let people who kill people by "accident" scot free, that will lead to a bad prescedent

Precedent, not "prescedent." Plus nothing you said makes any sense.

You mean charge a guy with no conceivable motive or sign of intent for what clearly seems like a non-negligent accident?

aHappySacka posted...

Except there was no apparent negligence involved on his part and likely none on the father's other. Criminal negligence refers more to an egregious disregard for safety.
