I was quite surprised as soon as saw and heard the intro of his trailer. Overall I was pleased with Cloud's inclusion in Smash.

I got a text from a friend that told me he was revealed. At first I didn't believe it because Cloud being in Smash was like something you joke about (lol brawltaunts). But lo and behold, I saw the trailer, and my jaw had to be surgically removed from the floor.

I was barely paying attention to the Direct at that point but it went something like this.

*Smash Bros logo*

*FINAL FANTASY logo first appears*
"-please don't say VII, please don't say VII-"
*FINAL FANTASY logo finishes zooming*
"Oh please don't say VII-"
*VII pops in*
"GOD FUCKING DAMMIT!"
*Cloud's shoe shows up*
"NO. FUCKING HELL, NO."

And the rest of the trailer was just me questioning why Nintendo would fucking do this. By the time they got to the "Final Video Broadcast" announcement I didn't even care anymore.

The game Cloud was most known for was never even on a Nintendo console, so the fact that Cloud got into Smash was basically a statement that almost no one was off limits.

Well, Ezio's already been a guest character in a fighting game before (I actually mained him in Soul Calibur 5) but Master Chief would be great.

Plus, the revival of Crash Bandicoot's series means that getting Crash in Smash could actually happen someday. Could you imagine Mario, Sonic, Crash and Chief all in the same game? The pioneer characters of Nintendo, Sega, Sony and Microsoft, from the most competitive era in gaming history, all under one roof...

Master Chief is a first party Microsoft character, so I doubt he will get into Smash, since he is actually tied to one of Nintendo's competitors on the market.

I was surprised, in a good way. He's really fun to play, so that helps. Wish they had added more than two tracks for the Midgar stage though.

This is the one thing that worries me, Sakurai won't be able to outdo Cloud. Of course, nothing beats Sonic, but Snake, Cloud, and even Ryu (given how it was leaked) had incredible reveals. Just by being announced. The only way I can see character reveals being that fantastical now is when we're invested in the choice of the character, like how Bayonetta was.

I lost my shit to be honest. I also felt the same way when solid snake, sonic, and megaman was revealed to be in smash. With ryu, I wasn't too surprised what with megaman already being there and me thinking nintendo might try to get the other capcom icon in the game also, and I was slightly surprised with bayonetta, but the former four.....man, lmao.

*I also saw pac-man coming a mile away, since I noticed namco being listed as part as the development or whatever well before the game was going to release, so I wasn't surprised when he was revealed.*
