Because that is how life works. 90% of life is being told "no," experiencing hardship, and enduring failure. Things will never be perfect, but facing adversity (competition for choosing a mate) is necessary for survival. Not so much because you need someone there, but because its good practice to lean how to prioritize your value. Note, and this goes for all men (even alphas), that success with women is roughly 10 percent.
