Music is okay. It feels like an afterthought mostly.

It's great so far. Started extremely trippy but it finally has started to get grounded and deal with characters.

Is Badalamenti back for season 3?

Yup. But again, the music is very sparse during the show itself; this season, much like how the original skewered soap operas, feels like it is skewering true crime shows. So there's a lot less music overall.

Huh, that's interesting. Music was a huge part of giving Twin Peaks its unique aesthetic. Does this new season do something similar with the colour palette?

Yeah, definitely. It's got Lynch's attention to detail all over it.

I think the new season has more in common stylistically with Fire Walk With Me than the original two seasons.

Way more focus on the sound design instead of the classic leitmotifs, I don't think there's been a new Badalementi composition yet and his past stuff is used sparingly. In fact the best music cues so far have been Dave Brubeck's "Take Five" and Lynch's remix of the Muddy Magnolia's "American Woman"
