It really is not. It's just a hidden fee that usually goes to the restaurant.

And I'd pay $3-4 and I wouldn't use a twenty. Having to separate your tip from the rest of the money can be a pain.

If a place has a delivery fee, I won't tip.

I'm normally a generous tipper (20%) as a I worked as a bartender for a year, so I understand the struggle.

But fuck that delivery fee.

I'd give you 10-1 odds that the driver gets $2 per delivery.

Otherwise, who the hell would work delivery for a place that charges $3 per and you get nothing.

Minimum 5$ tip, on deliveries, period. If you can't be a good tipper, don't get delivery.

For restaurants, if 20% fall below 5$, still round up to 5$.

I've never worked a tip based job, but nevertheless, poor tippers are a cancer on society. If you're too cheap to tip, then you don't deserve the service involved.

Tipping is important, but $5 minimum in a restaurant is definitely outside the norm so far as I have been led to understand. Different sources I've seen for that have been $2-3 minimum.

I do a 3 buck minimum as a tip if I'm at a sit down restaurant, if 20 percent is less than 3. Giving 5 as a minimum is a joke, only a chump tips 5 as a minimum

Typically if i eat out, its not a cheap place. So 20% is either 5$ or more. Hence at least 5 unless 20% is more. It's called paying it forward. I'd rather hook up my fellow middle class workers. Improves employee morale and everyone wins. Sorry if you consider looking out makes you "a chump" lol

Yeah this is what I normally do as well.

When I was younger and new at the whole tipping thing I made a special effort to get it at exactly what percentage I was aiming for, down to the penny. I half-entertained the idea that the waitstaff would be impressed with my math skills, though I knew it wasn't true. The poor servers got a lot of pennies, nickels, and dimes before I knew better.

I don't know about other places, but the Domino's where I work gives $1 per delivery to the driver (unless it's 2 or more deliveries at once, then it's $1 for the first and 75 cents for each additional). The rest of the delivery fee goes to the store, since the owner has to keep an insurance policy in case the drivers hit someone or something and he gets sued.

I can see your point, but most likely, the driver didn't cut the pizza. I would probably be annoyed, too, though.
