When a questionable goal/not goal happens, jumbotrons at the game will always show favorable camera views that make the fans at the game think it's a goal and get them riled up, when a different angle would prove without a doubt that it wasn't a goal. This just happened towards the end of OT1. It's happened many many times in other games too. I think the league needs to regulate this is shown on the jumbotron in these situations.
In this game, it caused all the fans to boo for like 2 minutes nonstop (which doesn't matter) for what was a very obvious non goal, and they also threw shit on the ice.

In this situation, the Pens jumbotron showed all the fans the puck crossing the goal line (at the top of the net) and bouncing around, which looked like a goal from that particular angle. That footage looked like it could be a goal but if you watch one of many better angles, it is very clearly not a goal, but the top of the net angle was the only one shown to fans at the game.

here is the play: https://twitter.com/myregularface/status/867945355576434688

this is what they put on the jumbotron at the game: https://twitter.com/myregularface/status/867946189190082561

also noteworthy, this play wasn't called dead right then, which always happens when a goal was under review. The play was ended well after this moment, and then the jumbotron played the 2nd footage to the fans

Yeah, it was stupid how they only showed that. It is pretty deceptive from that angle but then again if you know how gravity works how could that possibly be on the inside of the net

It's deceptive yes, and if you watch it a few times it's obvious it's not a goal from that angle. But they showed that on the jumbotron at the game a while after the play actually happened, and it's understandable that fans at the game couldn't process it quickly enough and would understandably get jazzed up.

I'm just saying that the only point of showing deceptive footage of a dead play that's clearly not a goal is to incite a riot or something, which shouldn't be allowed.

Sort of in the same vein as Atlanta pumping crowd noise into their games.

I think it's safe to say most of us sports topic dudes care least about basketball, yes?

I'm the president of the football-man baseball haters club, and I like baseball a lot more than basketball.

I like basketball OK. I watch a few playoff games here and there. Basically the same as I do for hockey but I have a rooting interest in that one at least. I didn't watch much football at all last year but i guess I probably stoll keep up with what's going on more than hockey and basketball for now, mainly just to find things to get mad about as it turned out.

I was just thinking how people I knew were going crazy on social media when the Warriors were just getting good, and I'd hear about them all the time during small chat and sports talk among people I knew. Then they erupted when the Warriors won their championship in 2015. Since then, they've been relatively quiet around here. It's like they got bored, or complacent. Their fandom seems like kind of a fad to the general public, and I still hear more talk about the Lakers than Warriors from the actual NBA fans I know.

I was thinking the same thing, that they should show the angle that showed it was a clear no goal. The announcer on NBC Sports said the same thing.

Damn, Matt Cain is still around?

I guess he isn't even that old, only a couple months more than Lincecum. The Giants had some great pitchers, but man, they had a short shelf life. Madison Bumgarner will probably be shit in two or three years

The camo hats/lettering that they're using for Memorial Day are so ugly. Why can't they just stick with the hats where the team logo/insignia has stars and stripes? They try to do something a little different each year, but that just makes the designs gaudier and gaudier

I've always thought it's kinda interesting what coaches for pro teams have to wear:
Hockey: Suit
Basketball: Suit
Baseball: The actual team uniform
Football: Basically whatever the fuck they want as long as it has the logo somewhere

Agreed. With hockey/basketball, sure the coaches seemingly must wear suits, but you're a high profile person and a lot of times you just have to wear a suit.

Football, there's a lot of flexibility, as long as you're wearing something that looks like you're affiliated with the team.

Baseball is ridiculous.

I guess the MLB thing comes from the days when there were player managers, but even when they still existed, were they really that common?

NFL coaches used to wear suits and fancy hats. Now those hats look better with a My Little Pony graphic tee
