I think those Mark Wahlberg commercials might be the worst ones on TV right now. Something is really patronizing about them, and there's about 100 per game in both the Stanley Cup and NBA Finals

He also looks hella cross-eyed at one point in it.

The Cardinals lost while I was at work today and I didn't even know the game had started until it was already over. Honestly I wish that would happen more often if they're seriously this bad

I remember when I used to complain about how everybody in the topic had a good baseball team to root for except me, and had a realization today that it's now pretty much the opposite. Socky was my only company and now he still is, with the Twins being in first place, although I wouldn't exactly call them "good" but rather beneficiaries of a weak division.


Oh well maybe the Cardinals will go on a bit of a run again, the NL Central looks pretty vulnerable so far

I would be pretty surprised if they got their act together. They can't hit at all, their rotation is flimsy, and their bullpen is a hilarious disaster. They also have a terrible manager and they can't stop making outs on tbe bases. They're bottoming out right now so I know they won't remain *this* bad but they're probably gonna try to make a move to salvage the season and it won't matter because they don't have enough talent to be supplemented by a middle tier everyday outfielder.

I guess it's a good thing the Rockies didn't end up trading Charlie Blackmon after all

I was reading today that the Warriors alone would lose something like 20 million if they swept because of the loss of ad revenue and ticket sales and all that. Of course, they'll take the championship over that. But there's a lot of money at play here so I'm sure the NBA is thrilled that there's no sweep.

That was an exciting win but the Cavs' 24 threes is an absurd number. I don't think they'll come close to repeating that, let alone to repeating 3-1. Warriors finish it up on Monday.

Cueto, Samardzija, and Moore were supposed to be respectable pitchers. Their 4.33, 4.29, and 5.28 ERA say otherwise.

There was like 5 years where Samardzija was good and now he sucks. Moore was kinda good the first 4 years and now this is the third year he's not. I was hoping he would at get somewhere in the middle but he's having his worst year yet. They're getting paid too much to be traded for anything of value as well.

Samadzija is really up and down to the point that nobody really knows how good he is. Moore has never really been good and the Giants were just crossing their fingers when they traded for him.

Man every time I see Samardzija's stats he's either way better or way worse than I thought he was. He must get off to good starts and then turn back into a bum every year

His peripherals are elite though. That's not always a guarantee a guy will start seeing better results but at least it's not a hopeless situation.

in an alternate universe, Samardzija is on the 49ers instead

anyways, hasn't Samardzija always been inconsistent? I think he'd be really good on a team with more run support to offer

My perception of him before he was on the Giants was that he would be okay but he'd get rocked every now and then.

Overall for his career he's been fine. Couple of years he was legitimately great and a couple he was legitimately bad. If I were to project him in a year it would be more like his 2016, just a solid workhorse guy.

I don't watch a whole lot of Fox Baseball but after watching tonight, I have to say AJ Pierzynski is one of the best analysts around. From his baseball knowledge to his personal stories, my god he was amazing tonight.

I wouldn't go as far as to say he's "one of the best", but I did see one game with him earlier in the season and I was surprised when I learned that's who the guy talking was. I know that when he was a player he had a reputation as one of the biggest dicks in baseball, but he came across as fairly intelligent and normal. I'm sure that he probably still is a douche in certain situations but it's not like he's a John Rocker type who has proven to be a classless asshole just about anywhere you can imagine him

Yeah I remember him having quite a personality as a player, that's why I instantly thought of him when they started talking about his history (they talked about him catching Chris Sale for a few years) -- It took me 30 mins to figure out who the voice was.

I definetly remember him having that strong personality when he played but he seemed to keep it in check for this game at least.
