saves us much less money, mainly through a modest increase in spending for high risk pools and a deferral of a cut in payroll taxes (it retains all the tax cuts on high earners and medical device manufacturers, etc)

the spending on high risk pools doesn't even help more medically needy or medically frail people gain coverage - the projected decrease in the uninsured rate compared to the previous version of the bill comes entirely through people gaining coverage through their employers as the nongroup marketplace plans become less desirable through repeals in regulations come into effect. the high risk pool money is literally pointless.
