I am all for two consenting adults being able to brawl it out when they realize words just won't cut it.

Do I think it's a stupid way of approaching a disagreement? Sure, but if I opposed it, then I would sound like the government that I despise. Let 'em duke it out.

Someone recently compared my views to Ron Swanson, but if he was really anti-government, then he wouldn't have been a Hillary Clinton defender. What a poser. (INB4 people read this and assume I'm a Trump supporter because I just bashed Hillary.)

Having said that, it's a waste of taxpayer money for people to think the fight is a real one-- how are they supposed to know-- and call the cops to break it up, so yeah it would be a public disturbance.

In a perfect world, people would be able to duel with flags up or something to indicate that it's a friendly spar that both parties agreed to, but then this would be exploited when someone really wants to beat the shit out of someone else (whether the other consented or not), and then that would become a problem itself. #FakeDuels

Just keep the buttfuckery in the basement, start your own 1 on 1 fight club, and don't talk about it.

Because we live in a world where society must pay the costs associated with your "friendly fight" if things go wrong. If you injure someone and they don't have health insurance or the means to pay their medical bills, the taxpayer foots that cost. If you accidentally seriously injure them to the point of disability (or kill them), society must pay the costs associated with the lost productivity and/or disability. Society therefore has a vested interest in keeping you from doing things likely to cause you harm or injury - this is why seatbelt laws exist.

If you want to have a friendly fight, join a boxing league or sport fighting association. They will have the proper safeguards in place to ensure the two of you don't seriously injure each other.

EDIT: Also, in general, consent does not allow you to break the law. For instance, in most jurisdictions in the world you would not be able to legally murder me - even if I consent to it, with witnesses and a signed, notarized deposition.
