And you know what, they deserve it, because I tried to renew my sub back 3 years ago and Steam wouldn't let me. Then when I contacted their support, after waiting a full week they said to just do the very thing I said I was doing. Then it took another week for them to give another worthless canned response!

I rented a Dreamcast back when that was a thing, and the store's computer system screwed up and erased all their data. Who had what, etc. This is one bad thing about not keeping records on paper as well. I found out because I went in to rent another game while I had the console. I did keep it, but I felt bad about it, as they didn't really do anything wrong.

So, if you can excuse any guilt, or simply live with it, it is nice when these things happen. Might be easier when you don't have to look the people in the face, and you know it's only really hurting some greasy CEO at the top of a corporate ladder, and not a smaller business.

I didn't get the month free. Instead they charged my card without any sort of confirmation or even notice that a payment went through. I literally added $20 to my Steam account right before then! Why didn't they take it off that like I intended?! Guess I need to contact the cancer that is Steam support again.

Had they actually accidentally given me a month free by mistake, I wouldn't have felt any guilt about it. I lost a lot of friends because I couldn't log in because their system bugged out and they refused to hire a support team.

If they make a mistake that leaves you off worse, it doesn't matter. If they make a mistake that leaves them worse, they will do everything they can to fix it. Only money matters.

Hell, they are even blocking cross region gifting now if the gifter has a lower price. All to stop any sort of trading.

Australians literally won't be able to be given a game by anyone outside of Australia with that tax change happening.

No, it's that I couldn't contact them. When I finally got on EVE a year later when they were doing a free week, no one had been online in months.

Any sort of a lower price? Cause that would be incredibly stupid. They should make it so you can at least go 1% or half a dollar over the price of the other region, or two people from different countries aren't even allowed to exchange gifts in some cases.
