Which one of these

I think everyone agrees that the SNES is Nintendo's peak, at least in terms of being the clear best hardware company, and that all the consoles after it have some degree of flaws or shortcomings. But which of those is the best?

No Switch because it's too early to tell and no handhelds since Nintendo is generally regarded as doing a great job with those.

Also, it's not in the poll, but if you feel like it, answer which you think is worst.

The Wii U has some really great games plus backwards compatibility with the Wii and the VC library, so easily that for me.

Quality of games: Wii U

Most time I spent playing: Wii

Honestly the Wii had a lot of quirky/experimental games that are solid 6-7's/10. I really enjoyed those games.

so part of why you liked it because of wii games? bc shouldn't be a factor when deciding best gen from the same company.

For me it's a tie between Gamecube and Wii.

N64 is my all time most disliked Nintendo console.

It's always hilarious when someone tries to say a feature of a console shouldn't be a factor of that console being good. Those people need to stop being a Terris.

I agree that it should be taken into account, but I don't think Wii U should get all the credit as if every Wii game was also a Wii U game.

As far as I'm concerned, Nintendo hasn't actually released a worthwhile console since the SNES.

GameCube for me.

Counting backwards compatibility Wii might be better though, the only thing lacking would be the Advance Player which I used a decent amount with my GC.

Basically this. The N64 was good for one thing: multiplayer/party games. Beyond that it was not good at all. It really only has 5ish good games, 10 if you're feeling generous and the rest is crap.

My nostalgia tells me its the Nintendo 64. Putting that aside...

Overall, the Wii.

The Wiimote is actually a very good controller, with its primary fault just being that it should have had higher precision from the get-go. Additionally, it can be used quite comfortably as a traditional controller, meaning games do not actually need to use motion controls if they do not want to.

The Wii itself is fairly nice as well. If you include BC, it could support GC games and controllers, and could support the controller for many Wii games too.

One of its downsides was that it tended to attract a fair bit of shovelware, but it also had a fair number of solid games.

I don't know if BC/VC/remasters should really count as points towards a console, but I can't really control how people vote.

I voted for N64, but I say that knowing it's the only one of the four that I really got an extensive look at and played pretty much all the hits. There are still plenty of supposedly graet games for the other three that I've yet to play, so maybe they're better, but for now, it's N64. I always hear people say "But all it had was a few great first-party games and that's it", but doesn't that kind of describe all of them?

This is kind of what I was thinking too, actually. I know Wii U was seen as a flop, but I enjoyed playing it much more than the Wii. Even as somebody who loves Skyward Sword, the Wii U just feels much nicer to play in comparison with its traditional controller. And the Wii is kind of caught in an awkward space graphically, where it's not nostalgic enough and it just looks weird because it's widescreen but not HD.

Post-SNES, GameCube was the closest Nintendo ever came to having a normal/good controller again. So I'm going with that.

Pro and Classic controllers don't count, because not every game is compatible.

I still have my copy too. If that was aimed at my comment there were like 5-8 RPG titles for it total.
