Adam Warlock, some big character from the comics. I'm not too familiar with him myself though.

I asked my friend who knows more about the comics and he told me that Adam Warlock was the one who assembled and organized all of Earth's heroes for the attack against Thanos .

I'm pretty sure that was joke played on the audience. It would explain why there were so many.

With that said, I thought it was refreshing that it focused solely on itself.

The cool thing about Adam Warlock is that he has an evil alter ego Magus that is a total BAMF, he pretty much kills the entire GotG group at one point in the comics

This is what I like about both of the GotG movies. They're pretty much separate from the rest of the MCU(for now at least) and almost anyone can get into them and have a good time.
And you know, not being forced to see all the earlier films beforehand in order to understand what the f is going on.

Like at the beginning of Age of Ultron, the Avengers were attacking a Hydra base for some reason and if you didn't watch the Agents of SHIELD series you'll pretty much be left in the dark.

Well... that's probably not true, considering that Adam Strange was teased and he was a key figure in the Infinity saga in the comics which means that he'd likely appear in the film. afaik, it's not confirmed but it'd be weird for them to introduce the character then *not* use him in a storyline he was famous for. Hell, he's even the central figure in the comic cover!

That's good to know. I guess that could technically be an infinity wars tease then if he's theoretically set to appear in some capacity during the infinity wars.
