Those of you who have hope, any hope of intellectual integrity really reflect on that last paragraph. If you still maintain you are right then I'm just going to tag you as a troll because that represents some willful hostility and stupidity to the point that I don't think I could ever value anything you have to say.

Again A DOCTOR SAID IT WAS OK. and IF I WAS NOT DOING THIS I WOULD BE EATTING SHITTY, therefor THIS IS A GOOD THING AND A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION UNEQUIVOCALLY.

Right, so as I suspected, you have no long term plan which is the best way to fall right back into what you were doing previously. You also seem to be unable to comprehend that what we are talking about now goes beyond the 7 day fast. Even if we concede that the 7 day fast helps you and your doctor said it's ok, everyone is 100% correct in saying that it won't matter at all because once you go back to your crap diet, you will gain the weight back, your blood pressure will go right back up to where it was, and your progress will be undone. The only moron here is you if you can't see that.

You're also going through the cycle I've seen so many out of shape people do. That being, instead of taking long term sustainable measures to change your lifestyle, you take extreme measures in the short term, see progress, quit that eventually, go back to bad habits, gain everything back, and then claim how you've "tried" but it didn't work.

I hope for your sake that you adopt a more long term mindset.

For some reason I doubt you will.

You put no cap on what would be a sufficient duration of time that this would matter, simply that if I ever went back to my old ways "none of this would matter"

And you also don't seem to understand that a fundamental tenant of anybody working with people who struggle with chronic issues is that the dumbest thing you can do is not acknowledge and give credit to forward progress.

It's like an alcoholic who's had a drink everyday for the past 5 years goes a week sober and rather than give him a inch of credit you are just getting off on telling him that "none of this will matter if you go back to drinking". If you started saying that at an AA meeting they would kick you out, and they don't kick out anybody.

I am aware of steps like that I can take and am not rejecting them. I did some exercise yesterday. That said when it comes to any exercise recommendations you give me you have to remember that it would be like if you recommended the same thing to yourself while carrying a backpack containing our weight differential. So a half hour walk a day isn't something to be taken super lightly.

Plus I still have mental issues with structure and stuff, which is why I don't want to set myself up for failure and (per my psychologists recommendation) reward the positive forward steps I'm making as opposed to committing to be perfect and likely failing.

The bigger point about this week for me was that I didn't fail, (which is why all this negative shitbirds are so grating). I set out to do something hard and did it, and whatever the future brings I did good this week and I can feel good this week about doing good. Positive reinforcement of positive actions breeds more positive actions, which is why, again, it is so batshit crazy to not feel positive this week because of what MIGHT happen next week.

1. Should i mark you down as subscribing to the thesis too?
2. Because the body can only burn fat so long. Water fasts are really good for jumpstarting weightloss and helping with things like blood pressure but then people transition towards a more long term solution, and i just get to transition to that long term solution down like 25lbs, feeling better, and with a decidedly reduced stomach size.

I could continue on longer I suppose, particularly because as of about 20 minutes ago I've completed 100% of the 7 days.

I started on a Wednesday at 2pm and we have hit that again, so a full 168 hours have passed without food and only water.

Fuck you James Franco, 127 hours ain't shit Though to be fair he was in immense pain, didn't have enough water, and couldn't sleep well

I grew impatient with people insisting they knew better then my doctor and the reality of results that I was experiencing.

Reread how people have been talking. Anybody left here is just being a troll or being hopelessly dense, there isn't much reason to talk to anybody. Considering how you are all but admitting that your motives at least were simply to upset me rather than have any sort of objective discussion, why would you expect me to post in this topic anyway?

I said I'd got on a 7 day water fast, I did, my blood pressure went down and I lost weight. There's not much more to say.

This topic reminds me, my dad is old and has heart problems so the doctor told him that he can't have red meat anymore. He took this to literally mean rare meat so he'll eat beef but only if it's well -done. He also claims the doctor said this is okay too.

Actually, I started eating more veggies and picked up running and weight-lifting. I can now run a mile in less than 8 minutes. You can't just starve yourself, bro.
