27 y/o Courtney Cosper Waldon from Georgia, a mother of a 5 y/o daughter suffered a horrific burn to her face after a fire pit accident revealed how the injury left her homeless, out of work AND ABANDONDED by her HUSBAND!!

She had 3rd degree burns to her face and 40% of her body after gasoline was poured on a campfire back in September of last year.

She was rushed to hospital and placed in a medically induced coma for a month and 2 weeks after she awoke, her husband of only 2 months LEFT her AND their 5 y/o daughter, Caroline!!

Because she couldn't work, she and her daughter were homeless and they are still trying to rebuild their life

Courtney said "I went from being the very pretty girl, just married, had my life in order to barely being able to dress myself and needing help for everything and having to learn how to do things over again. It was very hard to come to terms with what happened..The first time i saw myself in the mirror, i got sick and almost passed out. I got so many stares with people looking like they had seen a monster. It was a slap in the face when my husband left me. I tried and begged him to come back, my daughter didn't deserve it. There were defintitely times i wanted to give up, but i had ot think of my daughter. They didn't bring her to the hospital so the first time i saw her, she heard my voice and gave me a hug. She's been amazing"

She spent 51 days in the ICU and had to undergo laser surgery and has 7 skin grafts as well as had to learn how to walk again..

Each surgery cost 11,000 and a GoFundMe page was set up to help cover medical bills as she still has 12 more surgeries to do....

She remembers every second of that day the moment the gasoline was poured on the fire pit as she remembers being on fire and immediately dropped and rolled and finally was tackled to the ground as she was crying in pain..

Without income and with medical bills to pay, they have been forced to leave their home and are living with her mother in Georgia as they are supported by donations and the local church so they can build a small home on family land

Thanks to the donations, the were able to build a small house as companies have helped the project by donating their services with concrete, and a heating/air conditioning system and a roof for free.

wow, that was a big before-and-after difference. I was about to go to bed, and I might have trouble sleeping now. Poor woman.

It's a big change for the husband too, I'm sure. I don't condone what he did, but he shouldn't be named. Everyone copes with grief differently and this might have been too big a shock for him. If he literally can't look at her without getting sick then he needs some space. Just because he left doesn't mean he won't come back. It DOES happen.

They had a 5 y/o and she was only married to him for 2 months and this happened three weeks into their marriage if you're relaying information correctly (this is already passed through three sources before reaching my eyes so there may be some discrepancy with facts). Already not a keeper as he wasn't willing to marry her after getting her pregnant. He's probably gutter trash, but because this country gives too much power to individual freedom and not enough on inter-personal responsibility no one can force him to stay with her.

It may be understandable for the husband to live separately because it could be tough for him to look at her, but it's a complete dick move to not financially and morally support her at least. That means he never loved her to begin with. He also abandoned the child. That's another dick move.

Somebody with an ounce of integrity would have stayed with the wife at first, so she wouldn't feel suicidal after such an incident. Eventually help her find work for disabled folks. Once she's back on track, live separately if that's what he wants, but keep being a parent to the child at least. Ya know, stay on good terms and not be remembered as an asshole who left at the first sign of trouble. It's how divorces happen generally when people are too immature to work it out.

I had planned to be a smart ass and talk shit because her eyes appear to be not the same color in the various pics. At the same time though, the kids look the same so if the pics are legit, I might be an asshole.
