I've had only Android smartphones since my first one in 2010. I love them but they always get really sluggish after about a year of use, and I've heard iPhones generally stay quick for many years.

Anyone switch from Android and have things they miss?

Should I just stick with Droid anyway? I'd be getting the iPhone 6S if I switched, and a Galaxy S7 if I stayed.

If your android phones are always getting sluggish after a year it means you don't know basic maintenance. So yes, I would switch to Apple as iPhones are for casuals who can't be bothered with settings.

I was thinking of making the switch myself. My brother did a couple of years ago.

I know the basic maintenance. The problem is it stops helping after awhile.

yeah, i did (Galaxy S6 to iPhone 7).

The S6 had a lot of cool features, and there were a lot of things i really liked about the phone, but I found what ultimately mattered to me with my smartphone usage were the basic features, like messaging, and consistency (solid performance, battery life, etc). With my S6 I always had to wonder if my next update was going to fuck things up on the phone, but the iPhone is just very stress-free in that regard.

I know it's cliche but the iphone just works, and since I view my phone as basically a tool, it is frustrating when the phone doesn't work or won't work how you want it to. thankfully with the iPhone i never have that issue. battery life is consistently good. phone is consistently fast. apps work well consistently. imessage is so much better than anything offered on android. etc etc

ultimately it depends on how you use your phone and what is important to you

Thanks, iPhone sounds like it'd be best for me. All I really use my current phone for is calling, texting, email, browsing the internet, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, twitter, reddit, taking pictures, checking my bank accounts, and listening to music. Oh, and Pokemon Go.

So assuming the iPhone 6S can do all of those things well and have good battery life, it might be the winner.

Eh, I'm not a phablet fan. The Turbo 2 I have is just about the size of the Pixel XL and iPhone 7+ (a bit smaller I believe) and one handed typing or picture taking is a bitch sometimes. I like the size of the regular Pixel. Not too big or small.

I have the pixel XL and it's great. If you want something smaller, i imagine the regular pixel would be fine. Oh, and i use my phone for pretty much the same stuff you do, tc.

Oh and the battery life is incredible
