There's this girl on facebook saying that enjoying the movie means you inherently support him molesting the women he works with. I bet she still likes Alice in Wonderland despite the fact that Lewis Carroll was a pedophile.

I don't know anything about any rape case but Manchester by the sea was a beautiful and tragic movie and Casey afflec was brilliant in it

Yeah, it's an incredible movie. And the writing and directing are both so... different than normal movies.

I mean, I know it's an indie movie, and they tend to take interesting approaches to scene transitions and character portrayals, but there's something really distinct about it.

I'm going to be honest with you, I don't think I actually CAN enjoy Manchester by the Sea.

It doesn't have anything to do with him and who he may or may not have sexually molested/assaulted/etc, though. I don't really care if he raped half the female cast of the movie on the set itself. It just looks like a movie that I would find painful to sit through.

That being said, my suspicion is that most of the accusations against him were relatively bullshit anyway, and even if they weren't calling him a rapist actually borders on being libelous. But that's par for the course in the world we live in today anyway, so it's hardly surprising that terrible people on the Internet are being excessively outraged about things they have very little understanding of.

No either he's a rapist or the girls are dirty money hungry liars there is no in between and we get to decide for ourselves which is true

Manchester by the Sea doesn't sound like something I can enjoy regardless of who stars in it.

if you think you can't form reliable opinions about a work of entertainment based on trailers, plot summaries, and other external factors, you have a childishly naive view of the world you live in.

Also, I have a delicious dog-shit sandwich that I would love for you to try, since you clearly cannot say that you won't absolutely love it until you've eaten the entire thing at least once.
