And fathers day, veterans day, fad holidays like womens day or siblings day yada yada yada. You can probably guess, I'm single and have been for a long time. No kids. Just a lot of other people I have to take care of and recognize every year.

Year after year I go to weddings, kids birthday parties, then theres mom/dads day and parent/sibling sbirthdays..... all the while wishing everyone so much happiness.

It just feels like month after month after month (year after year) I'm buying or celebrating shit for other people. My birthday comes and goes, but society doesnt pressure people into wishing me a happy birthday. Its optional.

I have to kiss ass on those holidays.

People have said "Well you haven't done anything, those days are for people with accomplishments" - MY ASS

There are so many people who have these days of recognition, where the whole country is expected to pay tribute, but they just dont deserve it.

Getting knocked up by accident is an accomplishment? Joining the military and then telling me awful stories about how you fucked off the entire time means I should thank you for your service? Just because? It's womens day, so... YOURE A WOMAN SO I HAVE TO BE NICE TO YOU TODAY???? Are you fucking kidding me? You're a woman so I have to wish you mothers day, *just in case* youre a mom?????

I've been helping take care of my younger sister my entire life. I am a mom and a dad..... but I dont get recognition. I'm a decent person. Most of my free time is spent helping friends/family/coworkers.

I guess I'm just a whiny ungrateful bitch right? I already wished *MY* mom a happy Mothers Day and I'm taking her out soon. The rest of the Mothers of the world (ok america because IIRC no one else celbrates this asinine holiday) can fuck right the fuck off, I dont owe you SHIT and I am fed up with pretending like I respect you for getting fucked and pooping out a baby.

Sounds like you need to express yourself more to people when it matters, because kissing ass while you're slowly going mad only makes you go mad even faster.

I also really dislike these fad holidays but I have a relationships and I'm not jaded like that. I just think they're stupid. You don't deserve praise because you decided to have a kid. Your kid didn't ask to be born and like 80% of society has children so you're not special. These holidays just are there for corporations to make money with gifts and greeting cards. It's annoying.

The sad truth is that I know everything you guys are saying, yet I'm getting old and kinda expected to get in on some of the stupid holidays by now.

I just feel it more and more. I'm expected to cough up respect for someone every few weeks. I'm kinda leaning towards doing the opposite.

Everyone needs a special sunshine day and it's annoying. Here's the truth: you're no more worthy of praise just because you had a kid and someone didn't. Just because you have a child doesn't mean you're a good parent automatically worthy of additional praise. And even if you are a good parent you are the one who chose to have kids! No one needs to kiss your ass over that. Kiss your own ass if you want to be celebrated.
