DDO has been my favorite MMO, and the only one I played any decent amount of time in the last 10+ years. Stopped playing awhile ago (they made it more traditional MMO and less based on real DND rules), both due to lack of time (Taking care of my wife didn't leave much time for an MMO), and because I didn't like the changes that much.

Part of the biggest problem is with real life stuff always needing to get done, I couldn't really play with others (Can't really expect people to wait to do a quest or in the middle of a quest while I had to go deal with emergencies etc), and the game isn't as much fun solo.

So anyway, that no longer is a problem, I have plenty of time, and I'm gonna start a new character on the Ghalahad server. I'll be VIP, so I can start all quests on elite.

Just thought I would post here in case anyone else is interested in playing. It's a free to play MMO now (Wasn't always), so anyone can play, although being VIP gives alot of benefits (enough so that even though I'm a premium member with all the adventure packs unlocked (or unlockable with points I already have), I still will be VIP just for the movement speed bonus/xp bonus and ability to do quests on highest difficulty the first time.

If your interested in playing PM me and i'll send you the info on my character etc. I will probably join an already established guild for now, but if enough of us play, we could always make our own in the future (or just jump into one since you get nice buffs etc from higher level guilds).

I'm thinking about actual DnD as well, they have a game every Sunday at the Playlive nation place at the mall, but you would like need to live in Olympia to join that...which I don't think many POTDers do.

Roll20.net is my goto for playing, finding a group is a pain in the butt though.

Yeah. You basically have to check the listings and hope that maybe, just maybe, you managed to catch one within a couple hours of it being posted to get into a game.

Roll20 is really powerful with all the macros once you figure out how to use it though.
