My mom refused to buy me Legend Of Zelda Classic NES series on GBA for my birthday because "the graphics are bad" she took one look at the back of the box and refused to buy it.

My mom hates playing games, but one time my cousin insisted on playing with her. So she was just mindlessly pressing random buttons, and ended up defeating him flawlessly, and even counter attacking his attacks as he got close. He got mad and I was laughing, but she didn't even realize the match was over because she wasn't even looking at the screen.

I remember my dad wouldn't let my little brother get Halo 3 because it was rated M but allowed him to get Halo Wars instead because it was rated T. So my little brother was stuck playing Halo Wars when he really wanted to be playing Halo 3, but Halo Wars was as close as he could get.

"just pause it" when playing online.

This, but after a few months of mostly playing online games they understood.

"I'm playing with a dozen other people. Can't pause it for everyone, that wouldn't be cool." explained it pretty well.

Then it became "Do X when your match is over."

They were pretty understanding and often watched me play. I remember I got all A's in like 4th or 5th grade and my parents bought me DMC3 for doing so.

Best good grades gift ever. Of all time.

I remember when I was like 5 or 6 some kid thought it was amazing that my parents let me play Mortal Kombat, he told his mom, she got pissed and like called my mom up to bitch at her and my mom literally called her an idiot because Mortal Kombat was cartoony.

Like she thought it was a joke because the fatalities were so unrealistic and cartoony.

It might have also been because I was playing the Super Nintendo version but I really don't think the blood would have deterred her much since she was letting me watch shit like Terminator and Predator at that age.

my dad never really did anything stupid. my mom was super good with video games, to the point where she could go to blockbuster and pick out a game she knew i would like. one time when i was like 6 we played streets of rage together and got to the end. during the dialog part with the last boss i kept scrolling through it and she kept telling me to slow down and read the text. he sent us back to level 6 because i wasn't reading. i rage quit after that but it was pretty cool otherwise. happy mother's day, mom~

One day I came home from school and my mom asked if I had "grand auto theft" (Vice City) and I answered yes, and then asked why she wanted to know. The news channels had been broadcasting reports about the violence and killing hookers thing.

She was on the phone and I just started playing it in front of her and she didn't really do / say anything about it afterwards so I don't know why she even asked.

I was playing GTA IV one time and my mom walked in to tell me something, and as I was mindlessely playing as she was telling me a story I ran over a pedestrian and my mom started laughing hysterically. She was like "you hit that guy!" So I started running over more people and my mom just kept laughing with each person I hit.

1-3 were rated M because supposedly the Flood were gruesome enough to warrant that rating. Which, IMO, they weren't. It was mostly just a technicality because you could "dismember" them.

ODST, Reach, and 4 were rated M despite not featuring the Flood. 5 got the T rating after removing human blood splatter (and human blood altogether in multiplayer), which was apparently what kept previous games at an M. Pretty ridiculous considering all the T rated shooters of the past featuring human blood.

I guess you can show blood coming out but not having it splatter on the ground as a decal, and supposedly a newer rule is that you can't have multiplayer games in which you cause bloody injuries of any kind to other players without being M.

My mom banned me from Tony Hawk's American Wasteland when I was younger because I was beatin' the crap out of a pole with my board. She also didn't like the graffiti.

My mom completely refused to let me do any sort of online gaming/use the Internet. Just because it's ¨creepy¨. Or just cause... -_-

As a homeschooled kid who doesn't hang out with anyone outside my family, I gamed online anyway. Met some pretty cool people too.

I can, finally, play M games without having to look over my shoulder, so free access to online is coming next year (18). XD

I mean, I love her and she's an awesome mom, but... damn... lol

Also, a few years back my grandma got me a mousepad for Christmas.

I play on 360.

Oh! And my mom and dad keep calling me and brother's 2DS a Nintendo... It's not the NES/SNES/N64 days! That just doesn't work! XD

One of my favorite memories with my aunt is when my cousins and I were playing SSBM. She saw me fighting Bowser and gave me the advice: "Watch out for his spikes, they're very sharp." My cousins and I cracked up. I think she was at least kinda joking when she said it, but her commitment to the bit was fantastic.
