I always preferred Mallow over Geno. I like that he had a little story arc to himself. Geno, while cool looking, was pretty flat for the whole game after his introduction. Geno Boost is wonderful, though.

Geno is still baller. I wish he did get more exposure within the universe, like a Smash Bros appearance. Mallow is meh, though. I'd rather see Belome get something.
