And Batman, because he has more interesting narrative arcs and his running continuity has fewer clones, mad scientists stealing his body, etc.

Tough call.

Batman is the generic quiet cool guy with a traumatic past, but he's the best cliche of that there ever was. Spider-man took a random nerd and made him likeable. I think Spider-man is the entire reason nerdiness is "cool" today.

Spider-man, and you can't really say batman had less stupid cannons. I remember a JL episode where Wonder Woman was turned into a pig, and for that moment Batman had the hots for a literal pig. Any Amazing spider-man comic after #500 or so is probably just going to be shit.

Spiderman, but mostly because of his villains.

As an individual, I probably prefer Batman.

You did the order backwards, you're supposed to have the lesser characters up first so once one side loses its bigger characters it isn't a huge blow out.
