No more air mattress thank you very much.

And hell, before the air mattress it was a recliner, and before that it was a futon for like a decade, so depending on whether you consider a futon a real bed, it's been a while

So when I moved into my apartment, I had a futon, that I had been using for, like, forever

Futon sucked. Within like a year of moving in, it couldn't even sit up into a couch thing anymore; just permanent flat mode.

But it did the trick, you know?

Until one day I get a call from my roommate that there is water pouring out of the ceiling all over my futon.

The apartment above me had left their toilet running and flooded their bathroom.

Landlord told me I had to just go through renters insurance about it, renters insurance only covered water damage exceeding $500, so ultimate I was left without a bed.

Money's been tight so for a while I just slept in my recliner, until that got to be too bad for my back, at which point I borrowed an air mattress from a friend

Now a friend of a friend just was getting rid of a full boxspring mattress, so real bed time

Having a bed isn't adulthood. Most kids have beds. It's only people in their early 20s that sleep on other crap.

hey I slept on a couch for 9 of my teenage years

okay, I do know someone who did this, but it was by choice. He did have a bed.

Yeah, my brother did that. He had a perfectly fine bed in his bedroom, but he just preferred the living room couch. He still sleeps there whenever he visits home.

Yeap this was my case. I had a bedroom but it was tiny and without a TV so I just slept in the living room all the time.

Eventually my mom renovated the house so the living room was more walled off, and my dad replaced my couch with a bed when he moved out of his old place.

My friend has slept on a beat up couch for the last 5 years or so.

Possibly, but going to court over it wouldn't be worth the cost of an old futon

Yeah I know this feeling well.

About a year ago I got my first bed since leaving home, laying on air mattresses/the floor/futons for around 10 years. It's just a twin but it's a nice mattress. Of course I also got a nice couch to go along with it that I end up sleeping on half the time because it's damn comfortable.

And for the record I'd rather sleep on the floor than a damn air mattress let me tell you. They're so terrible.
