My warning to you, Ulti and Seph, is don't forget that Democrats gained seats in both chambers this election despite losing the Presidency.

Yes, they "lost," but they are gaining

It's like, we tell Ulti stop caring about Hillary, but then Hillary HERSELF is still out there getting major airtime making excuses for her entitled campaign failure.

It's SO FRUSTRATING

She's not "making excuses", she's offering an explanation.

She took responsibility for the failures that were hers (with how she ran her campaign), but that doesn't mean she just has to "shut up" about totally legitimate grievances with things that cost her the election like Comey and Russia.

It's like, say you're the Golden State Warriors and at halftime you're up by 10 against a bad team when you should have been up by 20 if you had played better. But then Vladimir Putin shoots Steph Curry and James Comey breaks Kevin Durant's leg because some of his emails were found on Anthony Weiner's laptop and you end up losing by 2.

Sure, you should have been up by more at the half, but that doesn't fucking mean you don't get to point out the actions of Putin and Comey.

I don't know anything about sports

The sheer political incompetence of the Dems would be tragic if it weren't so entertaining.

However, it also means that power has been seized by people who largely represent ideals I see as anti-American, so it's still tragic, too.

I mean theres no winning for her. She stays out of the limelight and you get liberals saying she abandoned them she comes back and starts doing stuff again and she needs to go away bevause shes an embarassment.

That said im not overly fond of the Democrats - my own history of political activism and the fucking backbiting between internal factions that chewed me up and spit me out leaves me not so fond of them.

But fuck the GOP is just a bunch of dickheads so you end up cheering for the dems anyway.

She made a fucking ton of campaign stops in Pennsylvania and Florida, and if she had won Michigan and Wisconsin she still would have lost the election.

You have a weird definition of gaining.

And yes I read the article, but going from 26-9 to 24-11 or whatever is not a real gain. If they start actually getting majorities somewhere I'll care.

Well, there are actually actionable things we should be doing to avoid a repeat of some of the reasons that Clinton lost (e.g. punishing Russia, the media going through some serious fucking reflection of how they covered stories like Clinton's emails, the whole country seriously examining their sexism), whereas Trump is just bringing it up because it's how he defines his entire self worth.

It's possible that that makes sense from a strategic POV, but it just makes me furious. No person so prominent in modern politics has had to put up with as much unjustified shit as Hillary Clinton, and no matter what she does she can't seem to win. She's a brilliant woman who has a lot of ideas to offer in actually moving our country forward, but because she lost to Trump she just has to suck it up and "go away?"

this means nothing, first of all.

second of all, if you want to make that argument....in which way is she more qualified than Al Gore, who served as Vice President?

and I legitimately cannot believe people are saying she was treated unfairly. comey just did his job, wikileaks leaked true information. there were an insane amount of hurtful leaks and stories about trump- but this election was only about personality for liberals. for leftists, for conservatives, for libertarians, for independents, this election was about ideas and she ran the least ideologically focused campaign of all time. look it up if you don't believe me- she was (significantly) the candidate who aired ads about policy the least amount. she told the left to dream smaller, she told the right the country was going fine, she spent all her time with the wealthy elite and donor class and ignored the people, who trump played like a fiddle. she is a horrific candidate. even if you believe she is a policy genuis (lol), being a politician is about convincing people to vote for you, and to like you, and she is horrific at those aspects. she is good at schmoozing with the elite, she could make a good member of a staff, but she isn't a good face.

Democrat or Republican, the American voting public is fucking stupid and would rather treat our presidential election like a high school class president popularity contest. George Bush Sr. is the only president in my lifetime that didn't win on the back of "charisma", and look at how fucked up the country has gotten with Clinton's impeachment, Bush Jr. getting us back into Iraq, Obama being unprepared to handle leading a nation, and now Trump being the biggest fucking mistake in our nation's history.
