Salon is a glorified blog with multiple contributers, it regularly does awfully sourced and inaccurate hit pieces. Although I do agree many progressives are becoming the antithesis of the ideology, this anecdote doesn't prove shit though.

So frequent is this occurrence, I have started using the term “Solnit’s Law” — in honor of Rebecca Solnit, author of the book “Men Explain Things to Me” — to shut down conversations that include men’s mansplaining to me how Clinton blew it and other “facts” about the 2016 election.

Solnit’s Law — a version of Godwin’s law — is that the longer a debate thread goes on, the more likely it is that someone will mansplain. Once the effect of Solnit’s Law has been declared, the conversation ends and the mansplainer has “lost.” Try it and see how often the conversation will end once Solnit’s Law is called. It seems that men — including and especially Sanders — would rather blame inclusion for Clinton’s loss than take a look at themselves, at sexism, racism and bigotry. Apparently it is easier to blame “identity politics” than to seek to change hearts and minds, in order to dismantle bigotry.

Unlike Trumpkins, we don't need "our news sources" (which this isn't btw, Salon has always been awful) to be completely biased and always on our side repeating the rhetoric we believe in. We can also recognize when someone posts an idiotic and stupid article, which this is.

People who write Salon articles seem to think that. That by no means indicates a movement lol. Even the comments on the piece are largely in disagreement.

The joy of consistently calling shitty sources shitty is not having to bend over backwards to defend them when they are especially shitty. Like the right had to do after Breitbart dissed trump for bombing Syria.

More liberal nonsense

This happens sometimes, when people put all their faith into a belief or a lifestyle and it falls short for reasons they think are unfair, it can difficult for them to accept and it becomes easier to blame others.

The whole election and it's response reminds me of what happened when Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin and Samoa Joe were all competing to become the next #1 contender for the NXT Championship.

While there was some mixed views among the general population, Baron Corbin was the favorite to win due to his incredible history and unrivaled power. Sami Zayn was incredibly charismatic and without a doubt the most likable of the three but considered an underdog, Samoa Joe was very popular among a specific base but people found his attitude and hot temper insufferable, so the fans assumed Corbin had it in the bag.

However it was not to be as anything can happen in the WWE and the joint assault from Zayn and Joe who made unintentional unlikely allies crippled Corbin and simutaniously forced him into brutal submission maneuvers that would have ended the career of any normal man.

Corbin as forced to tap out but he was furious, as where his fans. You gotta believe he was making every excuse possible, blaming everyone except himself and screaming how unfair the rules and supporters where being.

So much so that he even tried to sabotage Joe and Zayn's rematch/careers and have to wonder if all his bile accomplished is just ultimately just doing the unthinkable, allowing Samoa Joe against all odds to become the #1 Contender and then the NXT Champion.

But even now if you ask Corbin or his most diehard supporters, they will tell you that he should have won that contest and everything is Sami Zayn's fault.

In my mind the lesson to take away this is to try not to get trapped on the past. Focus on the future. Donald Trump is President. The focus on indentity politics did not bear fruit.

You need to look forward to who the new leaders/faces of the Democratic party will be just like you need to look forward to Payback tonight on the WWE Network where Samoa Joe will be action against his arch-rival The Kingslayer Seth Rollins.

And if Joe goes into that match thinking of ancient history with Zayn and Corbin, he will lose.
