The weird thing is, a lot of democratic party officials here are much more progressive than I am, but almost all of the elected officials are very not progressive; I've spent lots of time messaging against democratic reps that subsequently switched parties to GOP for example I think I'm going to at least meet the new chairman of the democratic party of arkansas before I finalize my decision, though. He and I cut our teeth on state politics at the same time, and I remember meeting him before he became a state rep. I had been joking about it for the last election, only to find out later that if I had I would have been completely uncontested in the primaries.
